Brussels Sprouts casserole (Rosenkohlpfanne)

Believe it or not my daughter just loves this. But I have to add that we all like Brussels sprouts. So if you are not a Brussels sprout lover this is definitely not the recipe for you :).

Ingredients

1 to 1/2 lbs very lean hamburger meat
2 packages frozen Brussels sprouts
2 cups cooked rice
1 onion
Vegetable bullion
paprika
salt
pepper

Step 1

Fill large pot with water and add about 2 tablespoon of
vegetable bullion to it. Bring to a boil.

Step 2

Add Brussels sprouts and cook until tender.
Do not overcook or they will be all mushy :)

Step 3

While Brussels sprouts are cooking. Chop onion.

Step 4

Put hamburger meat and onions in a large pot or frying pan.
Cook until hamburger is browned and onions are tender.
Make sure meat is cooked all the way through.

Step 5

Season with salt, pepper and paprika to taste.

Step 6

Add rice to meat and stir.

Step 7

Drain Brussels sprouts.
I ladle out about 1 cup of vegetable
broth before draining to use later.

Step 8

Add Brussels sprouts and left over broth.
Stir.

Step 9

Season to taste with salt, pepper and paprika

Step 10

Serve hot.

Bon Appetite!!!
